Our mission is to offer both immediate and ongoing support in response to natural disasters in the Caribbean. We achieve this by delivering aid, spearheading rebuilding efforts, and collaborating with local governments and the international community to address climate change.
In the immediate wake of Hurricane Beryl, Windward Aid started mobilising volunteers to procure and ship supplies to the hardest hit islands of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. We have provided essential relief supplies, including generators, building materials and labour, chainsaws, sanitation products and water.
Our efforts have helped rebuild homes and critical infrastructure, ensuring that affected areas can recover more quickly. Additionally, Windward Aid has worked closely with local government and Caritas Grenada to offer long term support, focusing on sustainable development and restoration of the agricultural sector.
On July 19th, Windward Aid marked its 1-year anniversary in Carriacou with a day of gratitude, culture, and community. From post-disaster response to a growing grassroots movement, this milestone reflects our commitment to long-term recovery and resilience.
On June 3, 2025, Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell met with Windward Aid to discuss long-term recovery in Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique after Hurricane Beryl. The meeting focused on housing repairs, mental health support, and building community resilience.
