St. George’s, Grenada — June 3, 2025 — The Prime Minister of Grenada, Honourable Dickon Mitchell, met with representatives from Windward Aid, a leading regional humanitarian organisation, to discuss ongoing recovery initiatives and future collaboration in the wake of Hurricane Beryl.
In the immediate aftermath of the hurricane, Windward Aid was among the first responders to mobilise emergency assistance, delivering vital supplies and providing on-the-ground support to some of the most affected communities.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Mitchell expressed sincere gratitude for Windward Aid’s rapid response and sustained support, particularly in Carriacou and Petite Martinique — two of the hardest-hit areas. The discussions centred on strengthening aid for vulnerable citizens, expanding targeted support in the Sister Isles, and identifying long-term recovery priorities.
Windward Aid reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to Grenada throughout the recovery phase and beyond. The organisation highlighted key focus areas, including:
- Housing repair and reconstruction to restore safe living conditions
- Mental health and psychosocial support services for affected residents
- Disaster preparedness and resilience programmes to better equip communities for future events
“Hurricane Beryl tested the resilience of our islands, but it also revealed the power of community and partnership,” said a Windward Aid spokesperson. “We remain dedicated to working alongside the Government of Grenada to restore stability, dignity, and opportunity for all affected residents.”
As recovery efforts move forward, Windward Aid continues to collaborate with local and international partners to deliver both immediate relief and sustainable development solutions across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
Together, we can make a difference and rebuild a stronger, more resilient Caribbean community.
