Our projects: Edu Aid

Rebuilding Through Education in Grenada, Carriacou & Petit Martinique

Windward Aid is a Caribbean non-profit dedicated to transforming lives through education in Grenada, Carriacou, and Petit Martinique. Our Edu Aid initiatives empower youth and families affected by Hurricane Beryl, ensuring access to learning, skills training, and cultural development across the Eastern Caribbean. Together, we’re investing in a brighter, more resilient future for the region.

Scholarship Programme in Grenada

Our scholarship programme in Grenada provides two-year educational scholarships to up to 12 children from families impacted by Hurricane Beryl. These scholarships allow parents to focus on rebuilding while their children remain in school and on track. By supporting Caribbean education aid, we’re investing in young minds that will shape the nation’s future.

Apprenticeship Programme in Carriacou

In Carriacou, Windward Aid has partnered with the Caribbean Institute for EcoLiberation (CIEL) to launch an apprenticeship programme for underprivileged youth. Focused on construction, carpentry, and contracting, the programme addresses high youth unemployment while directly contributing to the rebuilding of homes and local infrastructure. This hands-on training helps develop valuable vocational skills in Carriacou and creates economic opportunity.

Community Youth Development in Petit Martinique

  • Windward Aid is actively supporting initiatives that restore normalcy and foster engagement for the youth:
    • Dance Studio in Carriacou: Funding a planned community hub to provide creative opportunities and a safe space for cultural activities.
    • Athletics Field in Mount Parnassus: Collaborating with local schools to develop a new athletics field, inspiring youth participation in sports and nurturing future national heroes.

Why Support Windward Aid’s Educational Initiatives?

By investing in education, Windward Aid is not only helping families recover but also building a foundation for long-term resilience and empowerment.  Your support can help us expand these programmes and create lasting opportunities for the youth in the Caribbean.

Join us in shaping a brighter future for the next generation.

Together, we can make a difference and rebuild a stronger, more resilient Caribbean community.

The Caribbean is highly vulnerable to natural disasters, which can cause widespread devastation. As we recently witnessed in the nations of Grenada and St Vincent experiencing catastrophic impacts during one event.

These examples underscore the broader vulnerability of the Caribbean, where economies are heavily susceptible to natural disasters

The recurring nature of these events highlights the urgent need for regional resilience planning, disaster preparedness, and international cooperation to mitigate the impacts. Windward Aid is invested assisting the region for the future in climate adaptation, infrastructure strengthening, and community education. Our essential commitment is to protect lives, support recovery efforts, and ensure sustainable development across the Caribbean.
