Windward Aid launches emergency relief appeal to help Jamaica recover from Hurricane Melissa

Windward Aid, a UK-based disaster relief charity, has launched an emergency appeal to support communities in Jamaica following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. The Category 4 storm has left homes destroyed, roads cut off, and thousands in urgent need of essentials such as food, clean water, and shelter.

Founded in 2024, Windward Aid provides humanitarian assistance to Caribbean nations affected by natural disasters. Its teams and local partners are now coordinating rapid response shipments to help affected families recover and rebuild.

“Jamaica urgently needs our help,” said a Windward Aid spokesperson. “We’re calling on everyone—especially the Caribbean diaspora—to come together and provide essential supplies for those who’ve lost everything.”
